Saying goodbye can sometimes be the hardest thing you can do in your life. Leaving a lot of hanging questions that seems endless. After the goodbyes, what now? Will they come back? Will it be the same after they leave me? Can I go through life without them? Can I bear with the pain of me being left behind?
Why is that saying hello is so easy but when it comes on saying goodbye it takes forever? Why can't we just have them stay in one place? Impossible. Sigh. There will always be a time when someone leaves. I'm just sick and tired of saying goodbye's, I need to have more hello's.
Life is tough. It's funny how we can survive this dog-eat-dog world. Sometimes you just want to give up. Admit that you lost and retire from this stinking cycle that we call life. Sometimes you just want to sit back, relax and enjoy what's left of it. These are thoughts that will never happen because the truth is we need to go through an intensive and extensive journey. The cycle will just go on and on and there is no escape to it. What you can do is look for allies that can help you withstand the pain that you need to undergo and cherish the joy that you'll experience.
Allies can be anyone. It can be your parents, friends, relatives, etc. They are actually anyone that stopped and took time to know you. They are people that touched your life one way or another. People that did understand. People that gave you reasons to live. But not everything lasts forever. People live and people die. People also can just be a passer-by. These are people that came to your life in a flick of a finger and disappeared as fast as they came. Harsh reality bites. This is the reality that we cannot keep them forever. As much as you want to have them by your side at all time, it will never happen. You'll just hope that they will just keep their promise true. An eternal promise that will bind all of us in this web of life.
It will never be easy for anyone to say farewell. These people did impart a piece of themselves to you and from you to them. But letting go of what you most cherished is part of the cycle that you need to go through. Hard as it may seem but you need to endure it. It may take seconds, minutes, hours, days, or even years before you can recover and admit to yourself that they are not there, it will never be the same as it was before.
Saying goodbye is like death to a part of you. It torments you until you face the fact. It's hard if we dwell to our past. Clinging to the thought that, just maybe, they would return to you. Grasping to it because those were the moments that you felt complete and removing it obliterates what makes you whole. Sadness runs to your veins faintly knowing that when you utter that word, what goes with it is the disappearance of the memories that you did share with that person.
We can be mumbling forever, wishing that we do not need to depart from one another. But we are just rendered helpless. Just a spectator on what will happen. No power over the events that will occur. That's how life is, there will always be a beginning and an ending. Keep in mind, endings are not always forever. You sometimes just need to await for the time that your paths will meet again. Hoping that they can recognize your old face and remember the memories that you both shared.
To all my friends and family, both departed and has journeyed to another chapter of their life, I bid adieu. Someday in some far off place we will meet again and cherish the moments as if it was just yesterday that we last met.
'Till my next post.
